Police Reports

The Lawrence Police Department documents crimes, accidents and other important incidents that occur within the city limits of Lawrence, Kansas. If you are a witness to or are the victim of a crime you may report it to the Lawrence Police Department.

If the crime is very recent, if the offender is still present, or if there is evidence to be collected, in most cases an officer will be dispatched to your location to investigate.

Based on the nature of the incident some reports may be made by telephone. It is also possible to contact an officer in person at the Law Enforcement Center. The Teleserve Office is open from 6:00 am to 11:00 PM, seven days a week.

You may obtain copies of police reports at the Police Department Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5:00 PM, and weekends from 8:00 am to 5:00 PM. A copying fee of $5 will be charged for reports of up to ten pages. Additional pages are $.25 each. Reports may be requested by mail. Mail requests must include a self addressed stamped envelope and the $5 copying fee.
