Evidence and Property

The Lawrence Police Department Evidence and Property Room stores all items collected by the Lawrence Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Individuals with property stored in the evidence room may call (785) 832-7509 and ask to speak with the evidence officer from 8:00 am to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, however, property will be returned by appointment only.

If the property was seized as evidence, a release must be obtained from the District Attorney's Office.

If the property was seized as the result of a search warrant, a court order must be obtained authorizing the release of specific items.

Found Property/Evidence Auctions are held in the spring and the fall. Call the Police Department or check this web page for dates and times. There is currently no auction scheduled.
