The Lawrence Police Department is committed to reducing illegal weapons violations. GUNSTOPPERS is a proactive, highly effective program designed to get illegal weapons off the streets. Firearms violations can be either possession of an illegal gun (sawed-off shotguns or fully-automatic firearms, etc.), or possession of legal guns which are being possessed illegally (carrying concealed or possessed on school property, etc.).

Citizens having knowledge of firearms violations are encouraged to immediately contact the Lawrence Police Department. If the information results in the seizure of an illegal gun or the seizure of a legal firearm possessed illegally, the tipster is eligible for an immediate $100.00 cash reward.
